Before I get started, I completely forgot to tell this story from 2 weeks ago. I got an email from my agent asking if I knew anybody that was 6-8 months pregnant that would be available for a quick shoot at their home. Funnily enough, I just happened to know someone that fit the bill. After talking to Melinda about it, I emailed my agent back and let her know Melinda was willing to do the shoot. So later that night a guy came over and we setup a makeshift green screen (or blue-sheet-on-the-fence-screen in this case) and he shot Melinda lying on a table, belly exposed, for the opening titles of a show he is pitching called “Labor of Love”. As you can see by the picture, it was very thrown together, but I think it’s going to be cool to have a copy of the show for Dirk and LeBron to see they were on tv before they got here. I thought it was a neat experience, but Melinda got mad because I snapped this crummy cameraphone pic. She’s since come around and understands I took it because this is my means of documenting it all.
I had mixed emotions this week as I headed out on a one day turnaround to LAX for the final Sunday of my Second City training. A Sunday I almost missed. You see when I got to the airport the flight was delayed from 9:00 am to 10:30 am so I decided to grab some breakfast at TGI Friday’s (which was surprisingly cheap and pretty good). So after my breakfast tacos, I decided to walk the terminal from TGIF at C30 down to the C1. Everything’s fine and I’m taking my time. I hit C1, make the turn and head back. Around C16 I get an email that says the flight is no scheduled to leave at 10:00. I check the time and it’s 9:55. So needless to say I got my cardio for the morning sprinting the remaining gates to board, and then waiting another 10 minutes before they shut the door.
Class was spent running the show and making sure everything was where it needed to be. Then we moved into the theater and ran it in there. I’m still not fumbling over the dance moves, thankfully.
Here’s your fantasy football update (if you don’t care skip to the next paragraph). I won BIG this week thanks to a pair of trades I made Saturday night. I won’t get into the specifics but I essentially traded Carson Palmer for Vince Young and Reggie Wayne and then moved Laveranues Coles for Sammy Morris.
After class, it was the old Fairfax to LAX trip for the last time for a while. As I boarded, I noticed Terry Bradshaw in the last row of 1st class, sitting in front of my seat in the bulkhead. Thanks again the my iPhone for the 2nd time in a day, I watched “I know Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” on the way back, bypassing “Evan Almighty” on the plane’s tv. I’m not sure if I made the right choice there. While funny in some parts, I wouldn’t rent “INPYCL” or own it.
So, that’s it for the Sundays and now it’s time for the shows. I have a rehearsal next Thursday then Friday starts the run of our show “Premarital Sextet”. Here’s the show poster with a link to the Myspace profile.
